Authors should follow the guidelines below:

1. Scope of the Journal

The Archives of Pharmacology & Toxicology, Journal (APTJ) publishes high-quality research on drug actions, therapeutic mechanisms, toxicological effects, risk assessment, and related interdisciplinary areas. We welcome original research, reviews, case reports, and commentaries advancing pharmacology and toxicology.

2. Menuscript Type

  • Original Research Articles: Novel findings (3,500–5,000 words).
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive literature analyses (6,000–10,000 words).
  • Short Communications: Preliminary results (2,500–3,000 words).
  • Case Reports: Clinically significant cases (1,500–2,500 words).
  • Letters to the Editor: Brief comments on published articles (800–1,200 words).
  • Commentaries: Expert opinions on current trends (1,500–3,000 words).

3. Menuscript Formatting

  • General: Times New Roman (12 pt), double-spaced, 1-inch margins. Submit as Word (.docx) or PDF.
  • Title Page: Title, authors’ names/affiliations, corresponding author’s contact details.
  • Abstract: Structured (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion; 250–300 words).
  • Keywords: 5–6 terms.
  • Main Text: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions.
  • References: Vancouver style (numbered sequentially). Include DOI/URL where available.
  • Figures/Tables: High-resolution (300+ DPI), TIFF/PDF/JPEG format. Cite in-text and include legends.
  • Supplementary Material: Separate file submission with in-text mention.

4. Submission Requirements and Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted in English.
  • Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Online Submission: Editorial Manager portal.
  • Cover Letter: Include novelty statement, author agreements, and conflicts of interest.
  • Suggested Reviewers: Provide 2–3 potential reviewers with expertise and contact details.

5. Peer Review Process

  • Single-blind review (reviewers anonymous).
  • Expected decision within 4–6 weeks. Revisions must be returned within 11 days.

6. Ethical Considerations

  • Plagiarism: Screenings via iThenticate. ≤15% similarity (excluding references).
  • Human/Animal Studies: Ethics committee approval and consent (anonymized data). Animal studies must comply with ARRIVE guidelines.
  • Clinical Trials: Registration number (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov) required.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Disclose financial/personal relationships.
  • Authorship: Follow ICMJE criteria; all authors must approve submission.

7. Copyright and Licensing

  • Copyright: Authors retain copyright under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
  • Consent: Submissions imply consent to publish.
